Exclusive: According to gathered intelligence, in the provinces of Ghor and Kunar, the Khorasan branch of ISIS (ISKP) has carried out deadly operations against the Taliban, resulting in casualties on both sides.

On Sunday, October 20, 2024, ISIS-K militants attacked a Taliban convoy in the vicinity of Firuzkoh city, the capital of Ghor province. During the attack, the commander of the Taliban's General Directorate of Intelligence's Rapid Reaction Unit in Ghor, Engineer Qari Saifullah, also known as Jawad Badr, was killed. Qari Saifullah was a resident of the Saadat Babakhel village in the Jaghatu district of Maidan Wardak province. His funeral was held today, Monday, in the Jaghatu district of Wardak province. He was a key member and military operations commander of the Taliban's Haqqani Network's suicide (Istishhadi) brigade, known as the Al-Hamza Istishhadi Battalion.

Qari Saifullah Badr had studied engineering, specializing in mine-making and computer science, with his education completed in Islamabad and Egypt. Additionally, Qari Saifullah was considered one of the planners behind two major coordinated suicide attacks on foreign diplomatic and American military centers in Afghanistan. The first was the mass suicide attack on the Inter-Continental Hotel in Kabul, which took place in June 2011…
