Exclusive: In Shaki District of Badakhshan, Taliban internal divisions have erupted into open conflict. Pashtun Taliban forces, reinforced by the Kandahari Taliban’s Haibatullah Special Unit namely the Omari Army have launched operations to arrest and disarm Tajik Taliban commander Mullah Jumma Khan Fateh. The campaign marks a decisive attempt by Haibatullah’s loyalists to dismantle Fateh’s emerging northern faction, known as the Fateh Northern Front.
